
Students & teachers may wear Halloween costumes to school on Monday, October 31, 2022. Below are rules that will allow for a fun day without disrupting the learning environment:
- Costumes must conform to the Briarcliff Middle School Dress Code.
- Costumes may not be demeaning to any ethnic group, race, religion, nationality, disabilities, gender or individual student or staff member at the school. (HIB Policy)
- No weapons, toy weapons, or props replicating weapons, are to be brought to school.
- No costumes are allowed that would completely hide the identity of the student, i.e. gorilla suit, “Scream” character.
- Costumes may not have parts that interfere with learning. This means no masks or costumes that restrict movement or vision, prevent sitting at desks, or prevent participation in physical education class.
- Costumes must not obstruct movement in the hallways.
- No scary clown costumes/masks.
