The diagram below is a summary of our course offerings and the subsequent progressions to
9th grade coursework.
7th grade students wishing to move from Math 7 to Geometry in 8th grade may do so by submitting a
Grade 8 Geometry Application (Due 4/30)
and completing our Mountain Lakes Summer Academy Geometry (Preview) course.
Please note that a conference with the School Counselor and Case Manager (if applicable) are required PRIOR to submitting an application.
9th grade placement is determined by teacher recommendation.
8th grade students wishing to appeal their 9th grade recommendation may do so by completing an
MLHS Course Placement Application (CPA) (Due 4/1).
Please note that a conference with the MLHS School Counselor and Case Manager
(if applicable) are required PRIOR to submitting an application.
8th Grade students wishing to move
from Math 8 to Algebra 1 OR
from Algebra 1 to Algebra 2
in 9th Grade may do so by submitting an
MLHS Application for Summer Option II Credit (Due 4/30)
and completing our Mountain Lakes Summer Academy Geometry (Credit) course.

(if applicable) are required PRIOR to submitting an application.
