School Violence Awareness Week 2022
Since 2003, schools and districts have been observing School Violence Awareness Week during the week beginning with the third Monday in October, which this year is October 17 -21 in 2022, as required by N.J.S.A. 18A:36-5.1.
This week we will focus on preventative measures to help students find alternative options to choosing violence. These include school safety, violence prevention, coping strategies and available resources.
Schoolwide Activities
Daily Morning Announcements: Information, strategies, statistics and/or quotes will be read. Each day will have a specific emphasis. Teachers are encouraged to build on those themes throughout the day.
Monday, 10/17:Announcement Emphasis: Anger Management.
Tuesday, 10/18:Announcement Emphasis: Stress Management
Wednesday, 10/19:Announcement Emphasis: How to Prevent Fights/Conflict Resolution
Thursday, 10/20: Announcement Emphasis: School Safety
Friday, 10/21: Announcement Emphasis: Resources to Utilize if Students Need Help
